Is AI development outpacing the guardrails required to keep it secure?

Investment in AI is rising exponentially, with many businesses racing to implement it across their companies, whether by leveraging existing chatbots or developing their own. However, the speed of this seems to far outpace the pace of investment in keeping these AI processes secure. Martin Jakobsen, Managing Director at Cybanetix, discussed this very concern with Computing Security, expressing concern at the potential for AI deployed within organisations to become insider threats if not properly protected and contained.

‘The challenge for CISOs is that the AI evolution is fast and, if anything, accelerating, whereby services and solutions are needed now to be able to keep up with the development of AI itself. Currently, AI is a rapidly evolving security problem without a solution.’
